Loft bed - a great idea at any age!

While in the first two, parents have the decisive opinion on the appearance and decor, in the case of older children and teenagers the whole problem with the arrangement consists in combining several, often extremely different points of view. The problem of creating the perfect space for a teenager is also the fact that it requires much more furniture than in the case of a small child - the room must have a sleep zone, a rest zone, and a study zone. Besides, a teenager's room is not only a bedroom. It is an enclave and asylum for an adolescent who needs a comfortable and ergonomic place to work, a comfortable couch or armchair where social life will flourish and a bed where you can relax after an intense and exciting day. In a small room for all these activities, there must be room, and there will be - even if you have a small space. The mezzanine bed is the solution you are looking for - by using the space at the top, you gain additional valuable meters downstairs to use for whatever you want. The minimum height of the room where the bed on the mezzanine should stand is 265 cm, which is the same as in standard apartments. This allows you to comfortably use the bed without worrying about accidentally hitting the head on the ceiling.

The clearance between the floor and the mezzanine is usually 110 cm and above. The additional space that we gain thanks to this can be used in many ways. It is large enough to accommodate a small desk with additional storage cabinets and a chair, thus creating a comfortable place for study and manual work. The wall above the desk is also a perfect place to attach a cork or magnetic board, photos, pictures, or a timetable. The space under the mezzanine is naturally limited by the sides of the bed, which optically separates the various zones of the room from each other and promotes concentration and concentration. A great idea is to use the space under the bed for a small sofa and a few knitted puffs for guests. This will not only create a perfect place for social meetings and long conversations, but also prevent what mums do not like the most - sitting on the bed with their clothes on. The space under the bed can also be left empty and just for fun - it all depends on how much space you have and what effect you want to achieve.

As the taste of an adolescent child changes like a kaleidoscope, it is worth focusing on basic, classic, and timeless furniture. By creating the atmosphere of the room with accessories such as posters, textiles, or wall stickers, you will be able to freely modify it and change its style, along with changing needs. Depending on the current fascination of the child, with the help of various accessories, you can conjure up a rocket, bunker, or princess tower in the room - and the bed with a mezzanine will be an excellent base for this. Classic furniture made of wood is also resistant to ever-changing fashion and is extremely durable - which is important especially if the bed is to enjoy quality for several years or be used by another child.

An important issue, from the perspective of functionality, is the possibility of any positioning of the ladder, depending on the needs. The classic mounting of the ladder on the side will be perfect for smaller children who need more security, while mounting on the shorter side is good for older kids and young people - it shortens the time of climbing up and increases the space at the bottom.

The length of the beds on the mezzanine ranges from 140 cm to 200 cm, which allows them to be matched exactly to the child's height. The age at which parents decide to transfer their child to such a bed depends on the individual approach. Nothing prevents even a pre-schooler from sleeping at heights - the beds are secured against accidental falls. It is also a good idea to choose a larger model "in stock", which eliminates the need to replace every few years. A space that may turn out to be too large can be easily filled with stuffed animals and favourite toys, or a canopy that will make it cosier, even for a pre-schooler.
